Fayose Speaks On “Defecting To APC, Going To See Tinubu”
The outgoing Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has described rumours that he is on the verge to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) as “self-deceit,” in what seems to be a reaction to reports that he visited the residence of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in Lagos.
The internet was awash with reports that Fayose paid a visit to Tinubu’s residence at Bourdillion, Ikoyi, alongside his deputy, Professor Olusola Eleka at the weekend.
But in a tweet on Sunday, August 5, 2015, Fayose, who is a very fierce critic of the APC-led Federal Government, restated that he’s still a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which he believes has all it takes to “rescue Nigeria and its people from the APC tyrannical govt.”.
Fayose tweeted, “I remain in PDP and those associating me with the APC can continue to celebrate their own political self deceit.
“Together we must rescue Nigeria and its people from the APC tyrannical govt.”
“Linking me with any APC leader is like saying that I’m associating with armed robbers who stole the mandate of Ekiti people. If it will remain one man that will continue to stand against the tyrannical govt of Buhari and his APC, that one man will be Peter Ayodele Fayose.”
